This year we will focus on the impact emerging technologies like A.I. and machine learning are having on the travel sector. Under our strapline ‘Smarter, Digital, Travel’, we set out to bring delegates the latest in bleeding edge thinking about what this actually means for their companies today. In travel, providing the best frictionless customer experience is seen as the new loyalty, so it's the practical application of emerging technology that we want to showcase.
Last year’s Summit was one of our most successful yet with delegates saying they valued the mix of speakers including some from outside of the travel sector like The Future Laboratory’s Tracey Follows and the BMJ’s Sharon Cooper. This year, as well as some of the biggest names in travel appearing in mainstage sessions, we’ll also be looking to highlight best practice from outside of travel.

The day-long Summit will kick off with the launch of a new European travel market report from Travolution parent Travel Weekly in association with Travelport and Mastercard.
We will then look at new EU data laws due to come in next year with our sponsor CloudIQ, with expert analysis on what this means for efforts to exploit client data to improve the customer experience.
The afternoon will once again feature our popular start-up pitch session, with three young companies coming under the watchful gaze of our panel of industry ‘dragons’.
Before this Nena Chaletzos, who pitched her start-up luxury travel agent LuxTripper in 2013, will explain how she has become a B2B provider artificial intelligence technology that promises to supercharge travel firms’ online conversion rates. Her new business Travel Genetics won a place in the prestigious Silicon Valley start-up incubator Plug and Play.

In 2013 Luxtripper, a new online luxury travel agent was one of our start-up which pitched their business plan to a panel of experts and the audience at that year’s Travolution Summit.

The final part of the 2017 Summit will begin with a practical look at how Artificial Intelligence and machine learning fuelled by greater insight from data capture and analytics is already transforming the travel industry.
We will look a real-life examples of technologies that are being used right now to redefine the customer experience, how these are being implemented to provide a more frictionless and stress-free user experience and how firms that embrace this approach will be best placed to capture the sort of loyalty among customers that is so elusive in the sector.
With a software engineering background, Supriya Urchil is now a product strategy leader with a strong background in business and technology. She previously worked for Amazon on the online retailer’s Kindle programme overseeing the launch of new devices and customer and author retention.

new products that anticipate travellers’ needs, ease friction points and go
above and beyond their expectations by being relevant and contextual.
OTA Teletext Holidays has
started using Sayint, Artificial Intelligence technology developed by Zen3 that
turns verbal interactions into text that can be analysed to improve the way it
serves people who call its contact centre.
