Welcome to the Travolution Summit 2017

30 Euston Square, Kings Cross, London | Thursday 28 September 2017

This year we will focus on the impact emerging technologies like A.I. and machine learning are having on the travel sector. Under our strapline ‘Smarter, Digital, Travel’, we set out to bring delegates the latest in bleeding edge thinking about what this actually means for their companies today. In travel, providing the best frictionless customer experience is seen as the new loyalty, so it's the practical application of emerging technology that we want to showcase.

Last year’s Summit was one of our most successful yet with delegates saying they valued the mix of speakers including some from outside of the travel sector like The Future Laboratory’s Tracey Follows and the BMJ’s Sharon Cooper. This year, as well as some of the biggest names in travel appearing in mainstage sessions, we’ll also be looking to highlight best practice from outside of travel.

Our new headline sponsor business systems provider Equiniti is one of four Workshop providers also including consumer review specialist Reevoo, customer service platform Zendesk and Amadeus, which will focus on best practice in programmatic marketing. The day-long Summit will kick off with the launch of a new European travel market report from Travolution parent Travel Weekly in association with Travelport and Mastercard.

We will then look at new EU data laws due to come in next year with our sponsor CloudIQ, with expert analysis on what this means for efforts to exploit client data to improve the customer experience.

The afternoon will once again feature our popular start-up pitch session, with three young companies coming under the watchful gaze of our panel of industry ‘dragons’.

Before this Nena Chaletzos, who pitched her start-up luxury travel agent LuxTripper in 2013, will explain how she has become a B2B provider artificial intelligence technology that promises to supercharge travel firms’ online conversion rates. Her new business Travel Genetics won a place in the prestigious Silicon Valley start-up incubator Plug and Play.

Tickets: £349 + VAT. Click here to book.

Panel Debate: How new EU data privacy laws can be used to improve the customer experience?

Be a consumer champion - how to do the right thing with consumer data and make it work for you

Ahead of Friday May 25, 2018, the day new EU legislation comes into force in the UK, every digital brand will need to review the way they collect, store and use personal consumer information.

In this session Cloud IQ will give delegates an outline of the main changes to the law and reveal findings from new research asking consumers how they want and expect their data to be used.

Discover how you can work within the laws to build a consumer data strategy that puts the consumer first, ensures the privacy of your consumers and protects your own brand. Using the latest innovations in technology, we’ll explain how you can apply the new laws to create a positive customer experience - driving trust, engagement and ultimately, conversions.

Digital Marketing Think Tank: Marketing to the cross device traveller

Join ADARA and a selection of travel industry panellists to discuss 'people based marketing' as a potential solution to marketers' current and future needs

We live in a world where we seek inspiration for our next dream getaway on our phones during our commute, research the best deals on our iPad on front of the TV, book it on our computer at work and then post our live snaps on social media from our sunbeds.

With a path to purchase this complicated, can travel marketers truly track the effectiveness of a channel based Marketing strategy?

The solution many seek is to try and build individual personal connections with every consumer, but is this actually possible and if so, how?

Keynote: How AI and chatbots will resolve the paradox of choice

In this session Justin Reid, head of destinations at TripAdvisor, will explain how, in a bewildering world of choice, chatbots and artificial intelligence will increasingly be deployed to fast track customers to the best possible option for them for their trip.

The challenge for travel is how the information that’s most relevant to that particular customer can be surfaced quickly and efficiently every time to reassure them that there’s no better deal still out there waiting to be unearthed and they have found the ideal option for them.

Product Personalisation - Inventory DNA & Artificial Intelligence

In 2013 Luxtripper, a new online luxury travel agent was one of our start-up which pitched their business plan to a panel of experts and the audience at that year’s Travolution Summit.

Four years on the company has survived the difficult start-up stage to establish itself as a leading upmarket agent but, maybe more significantly, this year has launched a spin-off venture called Travel Genetics offering Artificial Intelligence technology it built in-house to improve conversions by better understanding product so it can be matched to customer requirements.

This has brought the firm to the attention of a leading Silicon Valley start-up incubator and seen Travel Genetics establish pilots with some of the world’s leading travel brands.
